Story behind Yakone Theory!

Ok, I was looking at some screenshots of past episodes, and I noticed something.

It looks like, based on Yakone’s attire, that he was Water Tribe!

image

Could it be that in the past, Yakone was the Representative for the Northern Water Tibe in the United Republic of Nations/Republic City’s Council?!

Being a person with power and authority in Republic City, cements Yakone as a true threat to Republic City. He was eager for power, and almost collapsed/altered Republic City’s government from the inside out, hence the reason he was a danger to the city.

Toph uncovered Yakon’e dirty deeds and outed him to Aang. Yakone being in a position of power and authority proved to be hard to criminally pin down, and might have been a reason Yakone was not charged with anything. Just look at his face of “f^#% YES, I got away with it,” or “Just as planned.”

He was free to walk (or he escaped) which led to Aang’s outburst outside of City Hall (look at the background!).

This battle/outburst ran through the streets of Republic City. Aang went into the Avatar state against Yakone:

After Aang took care of Yakone, his seat in the council was empty. Maybe DECADES later, Tarrlok took his current position after Yakone (or some other replacement). EDIT:[Tarrlok is currently 34, and the past events occurred 42 years ago, so I changed “few years later” to “few decades later.”]

Now, we know that episode 8 will involve a Korra vs Tarrlok showdown. Lin Bei Fong is no longer the Chief of the police, and it seems that Tarrlok will overtake her position. From the clip released via KorraNation/Nick, we know that Team Avatar will patrol the city, and this might cause Tarrlok to go against them, as he may feel that they would get in the way of his power-hungry plans. Explains why Korra might be angry.

He arrests Korra, and the showdown begins.

Korra might have another important flashback, as we know that in episode 9, she’ll finally dive into finding out what happened in the past as a means to try and figure out what her visions are trying to tell her.

EDIT: Woah… the response! O.O I left to finish school stuff after posting this… came back in an few hours. Fandom works fast and hard. *slight tearbending*

Korra in the Spirit World Theory

I’ve had this theory for a while now (since “The Revelation”)… and now thinking about how the last episode (“The Aftermath”) left off of, I think it makes sense.

Here’s my OhSH*T-crack theory for when/if Korra travels/ascends to the spirit world:

—-

Now that the new Team Avatar is living together in Air Temple Island, I’m pretty sure that Korra will train even more towards her airbending, especially since she’s matured and seen that things with the equalists are escalating… and I’m pretty sure that Tenzin will sort of push/guide her even more since he sees the escalating danger that Amon posses. Seeing as Korra needs more spirituality to actually airbend, she’ll meditate more or will discover something in herself that will gain her more spirituality, and she’ll finally be able to airbend a little. Once she actually begins airbending, she’ll ponder more on the spiritual side of being the avatar, and she’ll eventually travel to the spiritual world (either by will or accident… heck, even the spiritual world might call out to her first). Even the events with the flask backs of Aang will lead her to want to explore the spiritual side of being the avatar, perhaps to communicate with/seek guidance from Aang.

She’ll eventually meet with Aang, and travel to the Spiritual World. While there, Korra will come to discover that Amon is also in the spirit world (as he can also travel there), and he’ll be accompanied by whichever spirit(s) aided him in obtaining his taking-bending-away powers. Korra will be attached by Amon and the spirits(s) on his side, while in the spirit world. She’ll make her way back to her body (i.e. her spirit), and she’ll inform team avatar that Amon is much more dangerous than anyone ever imagined, as he has access to and help from the spiritual world. This whole fiasco will lead Korra into intense training that will eventually lead her to confront/think about controling avatar state, which will blow up in her face when someone she cares for is hurt in the final battle, and she’ll be out of control while in the avatar state. After coming out of it, she’ll be very harsh on herself, and perhaps feel that the only way to keep those she cares for safe, if to leave them behind. etc.

—-

I know it’s crack… but in some way, this would scare the sh*t out of me (seeing Amon in the spirit world).

O.o

Episode 8: possible scenes

Ok, out off all the past trailers and sneak peaks released so far, these following screenshots have yet to air in an episode… Therefore, I’m pretty sure they’ll be in episode 8… and here’s why:

image

image

We now know that the whole teenage gang/new team avatar (yes, it looks like Asmai is part of it) are living w/ Korra on Air Temple Island… and as you can see, that gate post, as well as the background looks like it’s the grounds from the island (remember that the buildings on the island have that very vibrant blue rooftops). Where are they all going… I haven’t the slightest idea, but maybe they’re all going to enjoy a night out in the city… or f$%@ sh#* up. Hey, maybe since Naga isn’t cooperating in giving all four of them a ride, Korra will let Asami drive the car she was given by Tarlock in episode 4 (IF she didn’t return it).

Then there’s this one:

image

I remember someone (can’t recall who, really: but he/she has a good eye), mentioned that the background of this scene looks like it can be from the Police Headquarters. Was she arrested? Who could she be fighting?

Now knowing that Tarlock has been eying the chief position of Lin Bei Fong, and that she herself is turning in her resignation to do things her way outside of the law, I’m willing to bet that Tarlock will take the chief position of the police, and since Korra hasn’t been turning up for his special task force OR even the fact that she (and Tenzin) might not like the way Tarlock’s handling/using the police, and they oppose Tarlock OR Korra might end up helping Lin in her “outside of the law” tactics, might get her arrested (any of these possibilities, qiute frankly), OR Korra’s simply visiting the police HQ. Maybe while at the Police HQ, some equalists raid the place (they might have gained some info on the place from the captured/tortured metalbender cops from episode 7), and while Korra is there, she fights them (hence this scene).

Then there’s this one:

image

Looks like Korra was captured, and is in a satomobile (as, again, pointed out by someone in the fandom a while back). She’s obviously injured, and based on her body’s position (her shoulder’s especially) she might have her hands bound behind her back, hence the captured speculation.

What do you guys think? Did I miss a screenshot?
